Patricia Traub

Patricia Traub (b. 1947, Allentown, PA) is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the York Academy of the Arts. She continued her studies in Paris at the Académie de la Grande Chaumièr. Traub is a unique combination of artist, conservationist, and wildlife advocate. These passions have facilitated her international travels to Borneo, Egypt, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Norway, South Africa, and Tanzania.

Traub studies and sketches animals from direct observation. Her paintings typically focus on a single subject, thoughtfully positioned within spare spaces and tranquil, black backgrounds. She says, "The underlying context in my painting is about our responsibilities to all living things and the environment we all live in."

Traub has exhibited widely in both solo and group shows and has garnered numerous awards. Her work is found in both private and public collections, including the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Woodmere Museum of Art, and the Allentown Art Museum.
