Ann Taylor finds inspiration in the expansive American wilderness, painting oil landscapes that distill the vast terrain down to essential forms and colors. Using line, shape and color, the artist gives her paintings a monochromatic and sleek appearance. The result is both realistic and abstract, thus converting a specific landscape into the universal. About her work Taylor says “My point has always been to communicate beauty. The risks are worthwhile if the viewer experiences the beauty and can tap a sense of inner peace.”
Taylor has participated in many solo and group shows. Her work is placed in important private and public collections, including the Palm Springs Desert Museum, the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, the Memorial Art Gallery at the University of Rochester, the Yuma Art Center at Arizona State University, and the Rochester Museum & Science Center.
Taylor currently lives and works in Scottsdale, AZ.
